Charlotte, NC (October 22, 2018) – In Charlotte, one person was struck and killed in a pedestrian accident on Friday night, October 19 around 10:00 p.m. on Lawyers Road.

Police say that, at the time of the accident, the driver involved struck the male pedestrian, who had been walking in the direction of traffic and headed toward Meadow Glen Drive.

The victim has since been identified as 34-year-old Eric Ryan Elsea. Officials say that he lost his life within minutes of officers responding to the scene. The vehicle never stopped at the scene.

Elsea might not have been seen since it was dark outside. At this time, police still search for the driver responsible and are trying to determine if speed played a role.
