Roanoke Rapids, NC (December 1, 2018) – Police say that one person received serious injuries in a highway crash that took place near Roanoke Rapids Thursday night, November 29.
At the time of the accident, a woman was driving a Honda Accord and suddenly went over the line, striking a vehicle head-on that was driven by Rebecca Currin.
The woman in the Honda tragically lost her life in the accident, while her 5-year-old child was airlifted to the hospital with severe injuries. Currin and her four passengers were all treated at a local medical center and are expected to make a full recovery.
Police continue to investigate why the vehicle went into the other lane.
