Albany, GA (October 15, 2018) – The Albany Police Department responded to an accident that happened in Albany around 12:10 a.m. early in the morning about a motor vehicle accident that occurred on Blaylock Street.
Officers said that a Crown Victoria had been involved in an accident and was wrapped around a utility pole by the time they arrived at the scene. The driver was identified as Jeremy Lavant, who suffered serious facial injuries due to the accident. Lavant had to be extracted from his vehicle and was then taken to the hospital for treatment.
The Georgia State Patrol came to the scene of the accident to investigate. They found that the driver had been driving on railroad tracks before it occurred.
The accident is still under investigation at this time.
