Anderson County, SC (November 26, 2018) – In Anderson County, one person lost their life in a tragic fatal accident, while a passenger who was identified as a juvenile was injured. The accident took place near Pendleton on Saturday evening, November 24, around 9:10 p.m.

Emergency responders were called to the scene at Burns Bridge Road near an intersection with SC-187. The driver of an SUV ran off the left side of the road while they were heading north after being involved in an accident. The car struck a ditch and flipped, which caused the vehicle to strike a tree.

The driver was trapped in the vehicle and the passenger, a child, was taken to the hospital by ambulance. The driver was later identified as 17-year-old Dillon Padgett. Padgett had just picked up his friend to watch a football game when the accident took place.

At this time, the other passenger is in stable condition and remains in the hospital but is alert. Police continue to investigate the circumstances of the accident at this time.
