Anderson County, SC (October 21, 2018) – A fatal car crash took place near Williamston on Saturday afternoon resulting in one fatality on Cherokee Road near Appletree Lane. The Anderson County Coroner’s Office was on the scene.
A 2000 Honda driven by a 58-year-old resident of North Carolina appears to have swerved off of the road and headed straight into a tree. Officials have not yet determined what time the accident actually took place or how long the man had been there. The scene was not discovered until around noon. The body was trapped in the car and had to be extricated.
Officials are still uncertain as to what caused the driver to swerve so suddenly and the investigation into this accident is still ongoing.
