Anderson, SC (December 28, 2018) – A woman and her dog were killed in a fatal pedestrian accident when they were struck by a vehicle after walking along Clemson Boulevard this morning.

Troopers with the South Carolina Highway Patrol responded to the accident this morning around 7:05 a.m. near the area of George Smith Mill Road.

The 31-year-old woman who lost her life has since been identified as 31-year-old Ashley Sexton Nichols. She had been crossing the road when she and her dog were struck by a 2016 Hyundai. Nichols’ boyfriend was also with her at the time. He was not injured in the accident.

The driver of the vehicle that struck them was not injured. No charges were filed in the accident.

At this time, police continue their investigation of the accident.
