Asheville, NC (November 7, 2018) – In Asheville, a 4-year-old child was seriously injured in a hit-and-run accident that took place on Tuesday, November 6. At the time of the accident, the child was in a parking lot off of the Smokey Park Highway.

The driver left the scene of the accident immediately after hitting the child with the vehicle. When EMS arrived at the scene, the child was taken into their care to be treated for injuries.

Police continue to investigate the circumstances of the accident. At this time, they are unaware of the condition of the child and they have not yet released the child’s name. They are still searching for the driver of the vehicle in question.
