Asheville, NC (December 11, 2018) – Around 7:00 a.m. this morning, three 18-wheelers were involved in an accident with one another, leading to the west lanes of I-40 to be closed for several hours.
The three 18-wheelers crashed for reasons that are still being investigated by police. Two of the trucks overturned, according to police, around 3 a.m. A detour was immediately put into place for those driving through the area, as there were many damages in the accident and debris strewn across the interstate.
The accident happened around the area of Wiggins Road and took multiple hours to clean up. At this time, police say that injuries are reported but all parties are expected to be okay.
The investigation into how the trucks collided continues at this time.
We would like to extend our sympathies to the parties involved in this accident and hope that the involved truck drivers will be able to recover during this difficult time. We understand that being injured in a truck accident can be a devastating experience.
