Asheville, NC (December 30, 2018) – Police reported that two pedestrians were injured today in a serious pedestrian crash when a man drove his vehicle into a clothing store.

The driver was identified as 55-year-old Eric Easton, who was having a coughing fit, according to police, when he drove through a red light and struck two pedestrians at an intersection. He then crashed into a store on Saturday night.

One of the pedestrians was treated at the scene for injuries, while the other was taken to the hospital with a variety of injuries.

The driver received a citation for the accident. Police continue to investigate at this time.
