Atlanta, GA (December 21, 2018) – Yesterday, four people lost their lives in a plane accident in Atlanta and since then, one of the victims has been identified as a Memphis business leader.
The man was identified as Wei Chen, who was a pilot who served on boards of Shelby County institutions and flew around the world. Other members of Chen’s company, Sunshine Enterprise, were on the plane at the time. However, their names have not been released.
Investigators say that Chen owned the plane and was the pilot. He was expected to fly back to Memphis yesterday when the plane went down in the area of Atlanta. The plane was expected to arrive at the airport around 1 p.m.
At this time, the National Transportation Safety Board is unsure of what caused the plane to go down, but they are conducting a full investigation into the matter. More information will be released as police know more.
