Atlanta, GA – Pedestrians Struck at Jackson Street While Recording Rap Video – Update

Atlanta, GA (August 13, 2018) – Early Friday morning, two individuals recording a rap video in the road were struck.

Atlanta, GA (August 13, 2018) – Early Friday morning, two individuals recording a rap video in the road were struck by a vehicle. The incident took place near the Jackson Street Bridge, which is known for its incredible views of the skyline.

The two individuals struck by the motor vehicle have now been identified. Karin Simmons, 45, and Kevin Megginson, 40, were both in the road recording a video when they were hit by a vehicle.

Police confirmed the identity of the individuals but did not provide further information regarding their conditions. One of the men was taken to Atlanta Medical Center for treatment and the other was taken to Grady Memorial. Both individuals are reported to be stable, but their exact condition or injuries have not been reported.

The driver of the vehicle was not injured and will not be charged. Both Simmons and Megginson will be charged with Pedestrian in the Roadway. We hope everyone involved in this unfortunate accident has a speedy recovery.
