Atlanta, GA (December 22, 2018) – Police are now searching for several people who used a U-Haul to steal merchandise from a Walmart and caused a hit-and-run accident in Atlanta.
The incident happened on Friday morning on Howell Mill Road. Officers saw several people taking items from shipping containers outside the Walmart and sped after two vehicles that fled the scene. Police tried to pull over those responsible, but they didn’t stop.
When officers returned to the Walmart, they found that a U-Haul vehicle had crashed at 17th Street and the drivers fled the scene. There was one other person in the vehicle they crashed into who received injuries, but police say that they are expected to be okay.
Police are now searching for at least seven people in connection to the accident. Police were able to recover the stolen goods.
