Barnesville, GA (November 21, 2018) – This week, a small airplane was involved in a plane accident when it crashed trying to take off from the grass airstrip Redbone Run. The accident happened in Lamar County.

Authorities who arrived at the scene of the accident found a small plane in the woods with four people inside it. All four people received a variety of injuries and were transported to the hospital but are expected to recover.

The pilot since spoke with authorities and told them that, following takeoff, they noticed that there was a mechanical failure that caused the plane to veer left. The failure occurred when the plane was tree-level.

The Federal Aviation Administration continues to investigate the accident at this time.
