Barrow County, GA (December 4, 2018) – Police are on the lookout for the driver responsible for a hit-and-run accident that ended up taking the life of a 66-year-old man and his dog while they were out walking.
A neighbor witnessed the accident on Jefferson Road in Statham. Deputies say that the car swerved out of control and went into the wrong lane, where it struck Marvin Barnes. Barnes was about six feet off the side of the road.
Deputies say that the car that struck the man was either a G-35 or G-36 that was gray or silver in color. The vehicle lost control and struck Barnes and his dog.
