Beaufort County, SC (December 29, 2018) – This morning, a man was killed in a fatal pedestrian crash in Beaufort.

Beaufort County, SC (December 29, 2018) – This morning, a man was killed in a fatal pedestrian crash in Beaufort County. Police have since identified the pedestrian.

Police responded to the accident around 8 a.m. on eastbound US 278 near the area of Wilborn Road. The victim has since been identified as 84-year-old Ronald Titus of Hilton Head Island.

The crash occurred when a GMC pickup truck had been traveling east and struck Titus when he was attempting to cross the road. The driver of the truck was not injured and no charges have since been filed.

Traffic was diverted for quite some time. Police continue to investigate the circumstances of the accident at this time.
