Beaufort County, SC (November 20, 2018) – Police say that a woman identified as Stacey Dyer had been on her.

Beaufort County, SC (November 20, 2018) – Police say that a woman identified as Stacey Dyer had been on her way to see family for Thanksgiving when she was killed in a fatal EMS accident.

Dyer and her family had been in a Dodge pickup truck and were stopped at a red light when her truck was suddenly struck from behind by a Beaufort County EMS vehicle. The accident took place on the Trask Parkway around 6 a.m. that morning.

Dyer was quickly flown to the hospital and her 8-year-old daughter was flown to another hospital with serious injuries. However, Dyer was pronounced dead yesterday, November 19. Her daughter is still recovering in intensive care. Two of Dyer’s other daughters received a variety of injuries that were not life-threatening. Her son was not injured.

The driver of the EMS vehicle was taken to the hospital and is in good condition as of this afternoon. An accident investigation is taking place at this time and no charges have been filed as of yet.
