Benson, NC (October 19, 2018) – In Benson, a fourth person has been identified in a fiery collision that took multiple lives on Interstate 40. The accident allegedly involved multiple vehicles.
The four people who lost their lives in the accident were identified as 69-year-old Sherry Allen who was a passenger in a vehicle that was struck by a truck, 61-year-old William Oneal who was driving the truck, Anthony Peters (a passenger), and both McRoy and Josephine Skipper, who were in the same vehicle.
At the time of the incident, troopers had been investigating a separate crash in the eastbound lanes of the highway. That’s when a flatbed truck suddenly came along and slammed into multiple vehicles, which led to a chain-reaction crash.
Charges have stemmed from the accident and it is still under investigation at this time.
