Bibb County, GA – Victim Identified After Pedestrian Accident

Bibb County, GA (October 17, 2018) – Police have identified a pedestrian who lost his life in a fatal pedestrian.

Bibb County, GA (October 17, 2018) – Police have identified a pedestrian who lost his life in a fatal pedestrian accident in Bibb County on Sunday night, October 14. The accident happened on Hawkinsville Road.

The County Coroner identified the victim as 70-year-old Gary Alden Runkles. The Coroner has been having issues locating his next-of-kin, which is why he is searching for more information on the party who lost his life.

Runkles was struck around 10 p.m. in the northbound lane of the 6700 block of Hawkinsville Road near Smiley’s Flea Market. The driver of the Scion that struck him said that Runkles had been lying in the road for reasons that are not known.

The driver claimed that he wasn’t able to see Runkles until it was too late.

At this time, police are still investigating the accident.
