Buford Highway, GA (October 25, 2018) – A man lost his life in a fatal bus accident when he was attempting to chase after a MARTA bus this morning, October 25. Police are still investigating the incident but have determined that the man was caught under the wheel of the bus.
The Georgia State Patrol said that they were called to the scene, which happened at the Buford Highway. The bus was just leaving its stop when the man ran across the highway from the other side, banging on the side of the bus to stop. The bus wasn’t able to stop in time and he was caught under the rear wheel and run over by the bus.
The bus driver heard the man and immediately pulled over, where he found the victim. A witness said that he had been driving behind the bus at the time and watched the incident happen. There were about 10 people on the bus at the time.
The driver is not being charged in the incident. The man who lost his life has not been identified yet but he is in his 40s.
Police continue to investigate at this time.
