Burke County, GA (November 14, 2018) – The Burke County Sheriff’s Office reported that a truck rollover accident took place involving an 18-wheeler yesterday, November 13. The driver of the truck received a variety of injuries but is expected to recover.

Police say that the tractor-trailer was carrying a load of 4,000 pounds of fertilizer and dumped fertilizer across Highway 25. The crash was so severe that it closed down two lanes and police worked for hours to clear the scene.

Authorities spoke with the driver of the truck, who said that he was approaching the intersection with Liberty Street when he was involved in an accident, which caused him to pull the wheel to the left and overcorrect. Police say that distracted driving was cited in the accident.
