Burke County, NC (November 10, 2018) – In Burke County last night, November 9, one person was taken to the hospital with injuries following a car accident. The Burke County Sheriff’s Office and EMS responded to the accident.

Police say the accident took place on River Road between the area of Ben Hatcher Road and Highway 80. One lane of the roadway was closed down because a power pole was knocked down. Planters Electric was called to the scene to fix it and the area was closed down for other drivers.

Only one person was injured in the accident and emergency responders confirmed that they were transported to AU Medical Center with a variety of serious injuries.
