Burlington, NC (November 30, 2018) – Burlington Police have arrested a man on second-degree murder charges after a motorcycle accident that led to a fatality. The accident happened on Thursday, November 29.
Eric Sunny Nunez was arrested after police found motorcyclist, Darwin Deon Graves, lying in the roadway suffering from a variety of traumatic injuries. Graves later died at the hospital.
Nunez was in an argument with Graves prior to the accident over an unresolved debt. Graves fled the scene of the argument on his motorcycle, making a turn onto Piedmont Way. He was followed by Nunez in a small SUV.
Nunez struck the back of the motorcycle, which sent Graves flying into the back of a van that was traveling on the road in front of him. Nunez then fled the scene and was caught by police a short time later.
