Calhoun, GA (August 10, 2018) – A motorcycle accident over the weekend caused serious injury to two. The accident took place on Highway 136 at I-17 Resaca Exit 320. It occurred when a 2015 Ford Focus driven by 23-year-old Briana Putnam of Denver, Colorado attempted to turn left across Highway 136 in order to head west. Putnam’s vehicle cut off the 2016 Harley Davidson, causing a collision that resulted in both the driver and passenger of the motorcycle being ejected.

The driver of the motorcycle, 23-year-old Mackenzie Kilpatrick of Calhoun, was transported by ground to Hamilton Medical Center. The passenger, 19-year-old Hannah Garrett, was transported to Erlanger Medical Center by LifeForce to receive care for serious injuries.

The driver of the Ford was not injured and was charged with failure to yield after stopping at a stop sign. We hope all those injured have a safe and speedy recovery.
