Cartersville, GA (December 4, 2018) – Police say that a 34-year-old man from Cartersville lost his life on Saturday morning on Rolling Hills Drive around Highway 61. We previously reported on the accident but the man who lost his life has since been identified in the accident, which was deemed a hit-and-run.
The Georgia State Patrol said that the driver of a large vehicle was backing up on a private driveway while a man, identified as Russell Steven Carr, was passing on his two-wheel vehicle. Carr was struck by a passenger vehicle around 5:55 a.m.
A witness said that Carr was struck and several people helped get the vehicle off of Carr. However, once it was off, the driver of the vehicle fled the scene and traveled south on Rolling Hills Drive.
The accident is still under investigation by police, who have not yet been able to identify the driver of the other vehicle.
