Cartersville, GA (December 19, 2018) – The Georgia State Patrol is working on their investigation into a fatal pedestrian collision that happened on the Joe Frank Harris Parkway.
The accident took place just south of Postelle Street around 2:33 a.m. At the time, the driver of a Kia was traveling southbound on the parkway when they attempted to negotiate a left curve and immediately struck a pedestrian who was walking northbound.
The driver of the vehicle stopped to cooperate with police, which is when they told police that they never saw the pedestrian. The pedestrian appeared to have been walking north in the southbound lane. They said it was too late to avoid the victim when they came around the bend.
The victim’s family has not yet been notified and so the victim’s name has not yet been released; however, police continue their investigation into the matter.
