Cartersville, GA (December 10, 2018) – In Cartersville, the Georgia State Patrol arrested one man for leaving the scene of a fatal hit-and-run accident involving a motorcyclist.

The accident, according to police, happened on Rolling Hills Drive in Cartersville. 45-year-old Tony Eugene Barron was charged with first degree vehicular homicide, failing to report an accident, driving with a suspended license, and a variety of other charges.

Barron struck and killed 34-year-old Russell Steven Carr when he was backing out of a private driveway one morning. A witness said that the driver tried to remove the vehicle from Carr. However, the driver then got back inside his vehicle and fled the scene.

When emergency responders arrived, Carr was pronounced dead. Police continue to investigate the accident at this time.
