Cary, NC (November 24, 2018) – One woman and her child were involved in a serious Thanksgiving crash that led to minor injuries in the city of Cary. The woman was identified as Sayward Grindley and was taken to the hospital with bruises and lacerations but is expected to recover.
Grindley said that the accident happened when it was just starting to get dark. She loaded her three children in the vehicle and made a left turn onto Jenks Road, which is when the accident happened. Her glasses flew off and she couldn’t see anything following the accident, which caused her vehicle to lose control.
The accident was a head-on collision. The two vehicles involved, light and dark sedans, received serious damages. Grindley said that many people pulled over at the scene of the accident to offer assistance.
Many emergency responders were called to the scene to check on her and the children, who are all expected to recover. She said that the accident has caused emotional trauma for her children but that she was lucky to survive.
