Charleston, SC (October 31, 2018) – Police say that a woman is facing charges after a DUI-related accident involving a bike taxi. The accident happened on Tuesday night, October 30.

The woman has been identified as 24-year-old Kacey Jay, who was charged with DUI and a violation related to narcotics. When officers arrived at the scene to tend to the victim, they found her sitting on a bench near King and Calhoun Streets with noticeable alcohol scent on her breath. She admitted to officers that she had been riding along when she tried to merge into a lane that was straight.

Later, Jay admitted that she had three glasses of red wine and that she was three times over the legal limit. Police officers took a closer look at the video and found that two motorists had stopped in an SUV after the vehicle struck the taxi.

At this time, the accident is still under investigation.
