Charleston, SC – One Person Loses Life in Fatal Bicycle Accident

Charleston, SC (November 16, 2018) – Deputies were called to the scene of a fatal bicycle accident after a bicyclist.

Charleston, SC (November 16, 2018) – Deputies were called to the scene of a fatal bicycle accident after a bicyclist and a truck collided with one another near Ladson. The accident took place around 6:15 a.m. on Highway 78.

Police say that a female bicyclist was transported to the hospital with severe injuries but she later tragically passed away while at the hospital. Unfortunately, her name has not yet been released pending notification of family.

Police say that the driver who was responsible for striking the bicyclist was not charged for the accident. Now, the crash is being investigated by the Charleston County Sheriff’s Office.
