Charleston, SC (December 23, 2018) – Police say that the Stono Bridge was closed to traffic following a serious two-car.

Charleston, SC (December 23, 2018) – Police say that the Stono Bridge was closed to traffic following a serious two-car accident that took place early this morning, December 23.

The Charleston Police Department responded to the accident to find that a motor vehicle and a truck carrying a backhoe. Two people were taken to the hospital by ambulance, but their conditions are not known at this time.

The car accident took place around 5 a.m. Motorists were asked to take an alternate route. Police were at the scene of the accident for several hours.

At this time, police continue their investigation to determine how the accident took place.
