Charleston, SC (November 20, 2018) – Authorities say that a woman was involved in a fatal car accident this past weekend with a Charleston County Deputy and a state constable on James Island.

Police say that 32-year-old Megan Eichman lost her life on Sunday, November 18 in this horrific accident. The accident happened around 10 p.m. when a Charleston County Deputy was responding to a pursuit call in an unmarked department SUV when it suddenly collided with another vehicle, according to police.

The deputy had been driving west in the 1000 block of Folly Road and the woman had been driving east, turning left in front of him. The deputy and a state constable had been riding in the front seat of the unmarked police SUV and were taken to the hospital with a variety of serious injuries.

Currently, the state constable who was injured in the crash is still being treated for his injuries in the hospital. Right now, this accident remains under investigation
