Charlotte, NC (December 27, 2018) – This morning around 6:15 a.m., a man was killed in a fatal accident in uptown Charlotte and police have now identified the man as 31-year-old Demetrice Antwan Gibson.
The accident that took his life, according to police, took place near the intersection of Mint Street and Morehead Street. The accident happened near the Bank of America Stadium. At the time, police say that his vehicle was involved in an accident with another due to speeding.
Gibson’s vehicle went off the side of the road following the accident, which caused it to strike two trees. When emergency responders arrived at the scene, they found Gibson with fatal injuries.
Investigators are still taking a closer look at the circumstances leading up to the accident.
