Charlotte, NC (December 18, 2018) – On Saturday morning, a man was killed in a fatal pedestrian accident that took place on Interstate 485 a day before his 22nd birthday.
21-year-old Darian Goolsby lost his life after he crashed his vehicle right before Interstate 77. He got out of his car, which is when another vehicle struck his car, pushing it into Goolsby.
A friend of Goolsby’s came to the scene and called his mother to tell her what happened. She told police that he was going to turn 22 years old on Sunday and his friends gathered together to throw a celebration for his memory.
The driver who struck Goolsby stayed at the scene of the accident. A passerby tried to engage in life-saving procedures on Goolsby before he passed away at the scene of the accident, but was unsuccessful in doing so.
