Charlotte, NC (December 15, 2018) – Police responded to an Interstate 485 accident that led to the fatality of one person around 5:00 a.m. this morning in the area of South Boulevard.
Around that time, a man was driving his Hyundai and suddenly struck the concrete median wall on the highway. The Hyundai came to a stop in the left two lanes of the highway and the driver exited the vehicle.
At that same time, a 2006 Honda came into the area and struck the vehicle on the side of the road, which ran into the man standing next to the car. The driver of the Hyundai died due to the force of the impact.
The roadway was closed for several hours while police took a closer look at the scene of the accident. They continue their investigation at this time.
