Charlotte, NC (December 7, 2018) – Police are searching for a driver involved in a deadly accident in Charlotte that left one dead and one person injured this afternoon, December 7.
The accident took place around 1 p.m. on Eastway Drive. Investigators found that 27-year-old Eldridge Jenkins had been traveling in his Pontiac G6 when he lost control of his vehicle, going into other oncoming lanes. Jenkins clipped the rear of a Toyota Tacoma, spinning it completely around until a passenger bus struck Jenkins’ vehicle.
Jenkins died at the scene of the accident. The bus driver was injured in the accident and hospitalized but they are expected to recover.
Police say that an Audi vehicle might have played a role in why Jenkins lost control. The Audi had been speeding through the area and might be linked to the accident. At this time, police continue their investigation into the matter.
