Cherokee County, SC (November 30, 2018) – The Cherokee County coroner said that a Gaffney woman lost her life after being involved in an accident on Pleasant School Road. The accident took place around 12:27 p.m. this week.
Police say that a driver was involved in an accident on Pleasant School Road, causing her vehicle to go off the side of the road and strike an embankment and then a tree. The driver was not seat-belted and was tossed around in the vehicle, which led to her tragic passing.
The drive died at the scene and was since identified as 56-year-old Velvet Anderson of River Tree Road. Police say that she might have had an undiagnosed medical condition that caused her to lose control of her vehicle at the time of the accident. Thankfully, no one else was injured.
Police continue to investigate the circumstances of the accident.
