Clayton County, GA (October 13, 2018) – Police said that an 84-year-old woman was targeted in a high-speed chase before the carjackers crashed her vehicle in Clayton County. The suspects were identified as teens, but one teen is allegedly still on the run.
The woman was getting things out of her vehicle in a parking garage at the time when a teen walked up to her with a gun, demanding her keys from her. The suspect stole the woman’s BMW. The BMW luckily had a tracking device and alerted the police that it was outside an East Point fast food restaurant.
Teens led police on a high-speed chase from East Point to Southlake Parkway, where they ended up crashing the vehicle. An innocent driver’s SUV was struck and turned upside-down due to the crash.
The teens ran across traffic but police were able to catch most of them. One officer was injured in the accident.
Police are still investigating the accident at this time.
