Cobb County, GA (December 17, 2018) – Police say that one woman has died and her passenger was critically injured after a multi-vehicle collision involving a boat in Cobb County.
The accident took place in the southbound lanes of I-75 near the State Route 120 Loop around 10:45 p.m. Saturday night. Dispatch started to receive an influx of calls about accidents in the area involving a boat, which led to crews being sent out.
When officers arrived at the scene, they found a small silver sedan that was so badly damaged that they weren’t sure of the make or model. An SUV was also found with an empty boat trailer, wherein officers then found the boat lying in the middle of the road. Police pronounced the driver of the silver sedan dead at the scene but she has not since been identified. Her passenger was rushed to the hospital in critical condition.
Police said that the investigation is in its early stages and they are not yet sure what caused the vehicles to collide with one another. They are trying to speak with witnesses so that they can recreate the scene.
