Coffee County, GA (December 19, 2018) – Police responded to a two-vehicle accident that took place on Highway 221 North yesterday afternoon involving a prison transport van.

The Coffee County Sheriff’s Office responded to the accident, where they found that a vehicle ran a stop sign and struck the van carrying inmates from the correctional facility. All inmates were accounted for. Multiple people were injured and transferred to the hospital, including multiple inmates.

Several people in the other vehicle were also transferred to the hospital. The identities of those involved have not yet been released. The Georgia State Patrol is working on their investigation of the accident at this time.
