Columbia, SC – One Person Loses Life in Pedestrian Accident

Columbia, SC (October 18, 2018) – The Columbia Police Department is still working on their investigation of a multi-car pedestrian.

Columbia, SC (October 18, 2018) – The Columbia Police Department is still working on their investigation of a multi-car pedestrian accident that took place in Columbia around 6 a.m. Wednesday, October 17. The accident happened at the 800 block of Taylor Street.

Officers found that a 53-year-old man was walking downtown at the time of the accident when he started crossing over Taylor Street. He was then struck by a woman in a Ford Escape. Officers believe that the pedestrian was walking in an area without a crosswalk.

At this time, police have not been able to locate the man’s next-of-kin and so they are continuing the investigation. Luckily, no other parties were injured in the accident.
