Columbia, SC – Man Found Dead, Lost Life in Fatal Car Accident

Columbia, SC (December 12, 2018) – Police are currently investigating a fatal car accident following an event where a man.

Columbia, SC (December 12, 2018) – Police are currently investigating a fatal car accident following an event where a man was reported missing and found in his vehicle.

Last month, a Fairfield County man was reported missing by his family. He has now been found dead following a serious motor vehicle accident. The man has been identified as 41-yea-old Douglass William Sumner of Great Falls. He was last seen by his family on October 22.

Police have located him dead in his wrecked vehicle off of Highway 21 north. Police are not sure if other vehicles were involved in the incident but they said that his vehicle went down a 60-foot embankment and struck a tree.

The Fairfield County Coroner’s Office is still investigating the accident at this time.
