Columbia, SC (October 22, 2018) – In Columbia, a school bus accident caused injuries to multiple people, including the bus driver, who police have since identified in the accident. South Carolina authorities immediately responded to the accident on Friday, October 19 around 1:20 p.m.

The accident took place in Greenwood County on US-25 almost four miles from Ware Shoals. The bus had been returning to the Westwood Elementary School when it suddenly became involved in an accident and traveled off the right side of the road. It went down an embankment. At this time, investigators are still taking a close look at what caused the driver to go off the side of the road.

Thirteen passengers were injured, which included nine students and the driver. The driver was identified as 56-year-old Donna Link of Abbeville. They were all taken to the hospital for treatment.
