Columbia, SC (December 6, 2018) – Police say that a woman was struck as she was walking along a busy Columbia road in a pedestrian accident, and later died due to her injuries. The accident happened yesterday, December 5.
The pedestrian, who has not yet been identified, was struck while she was at the intersection of Farrow Road and US-277, according to the Columbia Police Department, who arrived quickly at the scene of the accident.
The accident happened around 7:45 p.m. and the woman was immediately taken to an area hospital. However, while there, she was pronounced deceased. The driver who struck her stayed at the scene of the accident to offer their help.
The woman who was killed has not yet been identified by the Richland County Coroner. Police continue to investigate the accident at this time.
