Columbus County, NC (November 12, 2018) – Police say that three motorcyclists were injured in a Trooper Conner benefit ride that took place on Saturday, November 10. 800 vehicles were involved in the ride.
A rider in a pack of motorcycles was slowing down at the time of the accident so that they could take pictures of firetrucks on the overpass. This caused an influx of braking by other cyclists,
The three riders received various injuries such as broken hands, road rash, and more. They were all taken to be treated at the Columbus Regional Hospital. A third rider was airlifted from the hospital to another and said that he didn’t remember what happened at the time of the accident.
At this time, police continue their investigation into the matter.
We would like to take a moment to extend our deepest sympathies for the riders who were seriously injured in this accident, as we understand just how traumatic it can be to experience a motorcycle accident of any kind. You are not alone during this time.
