Columbus, GA (December 17, 2018) – The second of two people aboard a motor scooter involved in a fatal accident has died due to his injuries following a crash on Macon Road.
The second person involved in the accident has now been identified as 30-year-old Jeremy Blankenship, who was on the motor scooter that was struck from behind by an SUV. He was taken to the hospital with critical injuries and just passed away due to his injuries yesterday around 10:20 a.m.
At the time, 33-year-old Toni McChargue was also on the scooter that was struck behind by an SUV just past the Jenkins Road intersection. She lost her life at the scene of the accident.
Police investigators are not sure if Blankenship or McChargue was driving the scooter at the time. Through speaking with relatives, police have also discovered that the two had been dating and staying at a Colony Inn.
The investigation into the matter continues at this time.
