Cook County, GA (December 19, 2018) – The Federal Aviation Administration is working on their investigation into a deadly plane accident that took the life of a pilot.

The Cook County Sheriff’s Department Office said that the plane went down on Tuesday near Arthur Tillman Road. The pilot was identified as 56-year-old Larry Bothof, who was also the pilot of the plane.

Authorities tracked down Bothof’s body on Wednesday after this tragic accident. The investigation initially began when a homeowner in the area said that he found pieces of a plane lying in his yard.

When the homeowner started looking around the yard, he found pieces of fiberglass and plexiglass up into his driveway. Debris from the plane continued on into the wooded area close to the Little River.

The crash is still under investigation at this time.

We would like to take this time to extend our deepest condolences to the family and friends of Larry Bothof, whose life was taken prematurely in this life-changing accident.
