Dallas, NC (November 2, 2018) – A Dallas Police officer lost his life in a fatal accident in Gaston County on Thursday morning around 10 a.m., according to police. The crash took place on the Dallas Bessemer City Highway.

Authorities say that Travis Wells, a 22-year veteran with Dallas PD had been on duty when his vehicle ran off the road, striking a tree.

At this time, police are investigating what caused him to drive off the roadways in this fatal and life-changing accident.
