Dawson County, GA (December 11, 2018) – The Georgia State Patrol is investigating the scene of a deadly head-on collision.

Dawson County, GA (December 11, 2018) – The Georgia State Patrol is investigating the scene of a deadly head-on collision that took place on Georgia 400 in Dawson County. The accident took place yesterday afternoon around 1:30 p.m.

The accident happened on the Henry Grady Highway and all parties involved have now been identified. At the time, 56-year-old Tony Ray Chastain crossed the median from the left and traveled into northbound traffic. The vehicle struck a pickup truck being driven by 63-year-old Colquit Juanez Thompson.

Police say that both were tragically pronounced dead at the scene. Police say that it was raining at the time of the accident but they are not sure if weather was a contributing factor in the accident.

The accident closed down lanes of the highway for quite some time. At this time, police continue their investigation into the case.
