Dooly County, GA (November 4, 2018) – Police say that a man from Vienna is dead and a woman is in critical condition after a two-car fatal accident that happened on Interstate 75. The accident happened around 5:50 p.m. on Wednesday, October 31.

51-year-old Cleland Franklin lost his life and 44-year-old Denys Perry was critically injured when a Ford Focus struck them from behind when they were standing by their vehicle. The vehicle had been parked in the emergency lane of the highway at the time. The driver of the Ford Focus was identified as 22-year-old Julie Phillips, but she was not injured.

Police continue to investigate the exact circumstances of the accident. They say that, at the time, there were poor weather conditions on the roadway.
