Dooly County, GA (December 3, 2018) – In Dooly County on Saturday, an Interstate 75 accident took place that ended in fatalities in two separate people. Georgia State Patrol investigated the accident.
Troopers arrived around 10 p.m. on the Interstate in the southbound lanes. A disabled vehicle had been on the road but three other vehicles, including a truck, collided with it. The disabled vehicle had been in the far right travel lane and was driven by 77-year-old Donald Johnson.
Johnson died at the scene after he was struck behind by a Chevy Impala. The driver of the Chevy also lost their life in the accident. From there, a Ford Expedition struck the vehicles and a semi-trailer collided with them lastly. The driver of the semi fled the scene.
The driver of the Expedition was immediately taken to the hospital and remains in stable condition at this time. Police are still investigating the circumstances of the accident.
